Where to eat

Food has a way of transcending cultural and linguistic barriers, and it's a universal language that can evoke strong emotions and memories. Whether it's a family dinner, a celebration with friends, or a comforting bowl of homemade soup, food has the power to bring people together and create a sense of community and belonging.

There is a huge amount of choice on offer, but here are some recommendations for you.

Portree

  • At the Isle of Skye Candle Co

Restaurant is gorgeous, spacious and the whole building smells amazing! We highly recommend their breakfast roll options plus avocado bagels and great coffee. Staff are super lovely too! Plus their main offering is pizza so great for lunch or dinner. It’s the best pizza dough in the Highlands if not Scotland and toppings are a good mix of Highland fare and traditional. A great place to chill out and enjoy a good read, plus check out their candles and maybe take in a film or performance!

  • Central Portree

Great selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner options in a lovely central location, staff always friendly. The café can be busy so make sure you book in advance.

  • Central Portree

Great coffee and fabulous mix of breakfast options if you enjoy sour dough, scrambled eggs and capers; a good healthy lunch menu with delicious homemade cakes. If you are looking for a hipster cool place to hang out, you’ll love it! Open from 8am.

  • Central Portree
