    Radio Skye is committed to ensuring the best standards of practice in all its activities. All personal information is collected, held and used in strict compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018.

    Visitors to the website can be assured that the protection of privacy and confidentiality are given the highest priority.

    Information Collected

    Radio Skye does not collect any personal information from visitors to its website other than information that is knowingly and voluntarily given. Anonymous information is collected, such as the number of visitors to the website in a given period, but it is purely statistical and cannot be used to identify an individual user. Cookies are not used to collect any other information from visitors to the website.

    Visitors interested in Radio Skye Pods can provide contact details via Contact or Enquiries form. Visitors cannot be contacted unless such information is given. Visitors are also invited to give additional information at their own discretion.

    We will NEVER pass any personal information on to any third party without your prior permission except if necessary for legal reasons.

    Data Security

    Radio Skye takes appropriate measures to safeguard the information it holds from unauthorised access or improper use. Our electronic databases are stored in a secure, password protected location. Paper documentation is likewise stored in a locked area, with a restricted office. Only users authorised by Radio Skye have access to this data.

    Integrity of Data

    Radio Skye takes all reasonable measures to ensure that the information it holds is accurate. In particular it uses reliable collection methods and destroys or converts to an anonymous form any out-of-date data; visitors, upon unsubscribing and members after one month of the date of expiry of their membership. Individuals may request details of all personal information concerning them held by Radio Skye so as to contest inaccurate or incomplete data, verify the information and have it corrected it as appropriate.

    Children

    The Radio Skye Pods website is not targeted at children but in any event personal information will not knowingly be collected from children under sixteen years without parental consent.

    Member Details

    The personal details provided on annual membership forms will be used solely for administration purposes at Radio Skye and will not be passed on to any third parties. Membership renewal will take place at the annual AGM and a new form will be required to be completed. Forms from the previous year will be destroyed within one month of the AGM.

    Volunteer Details

    The personal details provided on Volunteer Agreement Forms will be used solely for administration purposes at Radio Skye and will not be passed on to any third parties. These details will be destroyed within two years if a volunteer has not been actively involved in the station for more than 12 months.

    Direct Contact

    If you initiate contact with the station, for example by sending an email, we will only keep your data for the purposes for which you made contact. We will never pass them on to third parties although we may use the data – in an anonymous format – for internal statistical purposes.
