Travel advice

If you are from outside of the UK, please remember to drive on the LEFT! The roads on Skye get very busy as you will have no doubt experienced already. Accidents do happen but we want to make sure you stay safe on the roads here in Skye. As the local radio station, we are always giving out travel advice so please do take heed >

  • If you are travelling slower than the cars behind you and you notice traffic building up, please use laybys or passing places to pull in and let traffic behind you pass safely.

  • Please always check your mirrors before making any manoeuvres.

  • Please don’t be tempted to take photos while driving and be aware cameras out of windows may be a distraction for drivers behind you.

  • Make sure you don’t stop to take photos where there is not a designated parking area or layby. Do not stop on a road to take photos or get out of the car.

  • Single Track roads – please use passing places on the left to let oncoming traffic past safely.

  • And, drive on the LEFT...did we say that already!

  • If you are in an accident, call the emergency services on 999 and give them your location.
